About the Artwork
When Motion Meets the End reflects the inevitability of loss and the fragile continuity of life, inspired by the collective experience of death witnessed during the COVID period. The composition is built around a sweeping curve that carries movement forward, symbolizing lives in motion—progressing, striving, and continuing—until they are drawn toward an unavoidable conclusion.
At the point of arrival sits the red wheel, representing the force that takes life. It is depicted not as an act of violence, but as an impersonal and relentless presence—turning regardless of circumstance or resistance. The meeting of the curve and the wheel marks the moment where momentum confronts finality.
Layered textures and fractured color fields convey disruption, uncertainty, and emotional rupture, while the structured elements suggest the systems and rhythms that continued even as lives were lost. When Motion Meets the End stands as both a quiet memorial and a reflection on impermanence—acknowledging grief while holding space for remembrance, pause, and understanding.
